Winter Field Day results have been posted for those interested in their positions. A post on one of the amateur conversation sites has suggested, they would like to see one form of scoring be adopted. Also we had no entry in this years winter field day so the club does not feature. Its back to you.

It appears someone has been reviewing the VHF radio qualifications, to suit the recreational boating regulations, only taken more than a decade. Are you a boater who uses a VHF marine radio in Australian Territorial Waters (within 12 nautical miles of the coast)? You’ll soon be able to apply for a more appropriate marine radio qualification—the .Australian Waters Qualification (AWQ). more here:

Magnetic Loop or Small Transmitting Loop antennas are nothing new, however there seems to be an increased interest in these highly misunderstood antennas. Some seek these antennas out of necessity due to their local housing restrictions, or because they don’t have the area available for larger, more conventional antennas and are therefor limited by size restrictions, others know of their true ability. Do they work, ABSOLUTELY, do they work well, ABSOLUTELY. Whether you have one, want to build one, or are just interested in learning more details about these small wonders, this group is for you. Please submit your pictures, ideas, techniques and success’.
